Chairperson: Ron Remple
Mr. Remple is currently the Executive Director of two non-profit organizations - Canmore and Area Health Care Foundation and Bow Valley Builders and Developers Association. He was a previous member of CAUSE Canada’s Board of Directors. Through offering his home to CAUSE Canada interns and guests, volunteering his time at the annual CAUSE Canada half marathon, and donating financially to CAUSE Canada projects, Mr. Remple has been an avid supporter of CAUSE Canada for the past ten years.
Vice-Chairperson: Jenny McMordie
Jenny McMordie's background includes a B.A. in Development Studies, and two overseas trips with CAUSE Canada dating back to 1989 and 1991. More recently, Jenny returned to CAUSE Canada as a Board Member, finishing in September 2008, a highlight of which was visiting some of the CAUSE Canada projects in Sierra Leone. She is delighted to continue to support CAUSE Canada by returning to the board once again. Jenny has been active with Scarboro United Church Choir for 26 years, runs a busy civil litigation law practice, and lives in Calgary with her two sons and and jazz musician husband.
Treasurer: Sandy Joliffe
Ms. Joliffe has been the Bank Manager at CIBC Canmore Branch for many years. Since her retirement, she has been involved in the voluntary sector, using her skills on various boards, and has traveled extensively throughout the Developing World.
Secretary: Rev. Christine Conkin
Ms. Conkin joined the CAUSE Board in 2008. She currently works as a Priest-in-Charge at St. Martin’s Church in Calgary. With her BA in Sociology and Masters of Divinity, Ms. Conkin is keenly interested in the study of people, culture, theology and spirituality. She has traveled to many places, including West Africa and the Carribean.
Director: Betty Tenga
Mrs. Tenga has extensive nursing experience in war-torn Sierra Leone as well as in Canada. Having lived in both Sierra Leone and Canmore, Alberta, Mrs. Tenga provides great cross-cultural perspective on CAUSE Canada's overseas programs.
Director: Dr. Pamella Manning
Pamela Manning is psychiatrist working and living in Calgary. She was born and raised in the Caribbean, and has a passion for development.
Director: Rev. Marcel Leffelaar
Marcel Leffelaar works as a Chaplain at the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary. He been a long time supporter of CAUSE Canada through ongoing financial donations to various CAUSE Canada projects and its child sponsorship programs. His travels to Asia and the Carribean have strengthened his interest and commitment to supporting ministries committed to social justice and international development among those who are disadvantaged & marginalized.
Director: Ryan Andersen
Ryan is the Pastor of Advent Lutheran Church and serves as the Social Justice Coordinator for Southern Alberta for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada. He is passionate about how faith communities can come together to address some of the social and environmental challenges that our world faces. This grew out of his experiences living in Guatemala, Cuba and traveling in India an Kenya. Ryan brings his experience serving on the boards of Canada Lutheran World Relief and Kairos: Canadian Ecumenical Justice Initiatives.

Policies Regarding Board Members:
Board Members: Board members meet 6 times yearly and are elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Corporation. The Board has four subcommittees: Resource Development, Human Resources, Spiritual Support, and Audit Review. The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors is comprised of the Chairpersons of each subcommittee plus the Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer of the Board of Directors.
Board Management: CAUSE’s Board of Directors meets six times a year. The Board Members are elected by the members of the Corporation at CAUSE Canada’s Annual General Meeting that is held once a year in the fall. The term for each Board member is two years and their appointments have been staggered so that there is a turn over of only half of the members each year.
