| What: | This is a bicycle adventure designed to save the lives of mothers and newborns in Sierra Leone. Participating riders will cycle over 500 kilometres of dirt roads and jungle single-track. Although Sierra Leone is one of the world’s poorest nations it is also a country blessed with great natural beauty. It posseses granite mountains, dense rain forests and expansive white sand beaches. |
| When: | The Tour will take place in January of 2012. It will begin in the cool mountain town of Kabala and progress through remote villages, a national park, flat savannah, and terminate on the beaches of Freetown. |
| Why: | All proceeds raised by this philanthropic adventure will be spent in Sierra Leone on: Constructing and equipping safe birthing huts as well as training traditional birth attendants and nurses through the Api Mami/Plump Baby Project. |
