
Course Descriptions
Half Marathon - COURSE MAP
The half marathon course follows a beautiful route through woodlands, beside mountain streams, and through a historic mine site, with stunning views of mountain scenery. The track is a combination of asphalt and high quality gravel with several short climbs and winding paths.
Elevation: The half marathon features a gradual incline and then decline of about 40m through the last half of the course.
Note: Due to time restrictions on the course we do not recommend that the half marathon be walked. Exceptions for race walkers. Minor course changes may occur.
10 KM Run & Walk - COURSE MAP
This beautiful course is appropriate for both beginners and expert runners/walkers. Beginning in the middle of historic Canmore the 10km loop will bring runners through town and out along the Bow River, revealing stunning views of Ha Ling Peak and the Three Sisters. Fast and flat this trail is a mix of asphalt and high quality gravel trail.
Elevation: This course is relatively flat with no significant change in elevation.
Note: Race walkers welcome, however there will not be a separate start time. Minor course changes may occur.
5KM Run & Walk - COURSE MAP
Come and enjoy a wonderful day in the Rockies! Appropriate for all running levels. The course is fast, fun and set in the middle of beautiful Canmore.
Elevation: This course is relatively flat with no significant change in elevation.
Note: Due to the increase in runners and the new route, the course can no longer accommodate burlies, strollers, or wheelchairs (or any other wheeled vehicle). Minor course changes may occur.
Foot Race
The Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon is a foot race. For safety and liability reasons all courses are limited to registered runners only. Inline skates, bicycles, burlys, skateboards and running with dogs is strictly prohibited. Non-compliance with these safety rules will result in disqualification.
Age Categories:
Half Marathon: 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
10KM & 5KM: Under 16, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
