It is virtually impossible for me to convey the many personal and professional successes that I have experienced since embarking on this internship 5 months ago.  Apart from the valuable life and survival skills I have gained through living in a very remote village lacking most modern amenities (including electricity and most meats and vegetables!), not to mention surviving 3 consecutive tropical storms which lasted for almost a month straight, working with CAUSE has given me an excellent opportunity to be directly involved in grassroots development work.  One of the most rewarding things that I have accomplished during this time has been my contribution to the writing of a huge HIV/AIDS proposal.  After several all-nighters and a series of small miracles, the project was finally approved!  Knowing that without my input the 15 month project, which is currently employing 5 full-time local community members and reaching hundreds of men, women and adolescents with potentially life-saving knowledge and support, would probably not be running, gives me a great sense of satisfaction. Thank you CAUSE for this life-changing opportunity!
