2010 Internship Positions

CAUSE Canada is seeking individuals to fill six internship positions in Guatemala (2) and Honduras (2) in Central America, and Sierra Leone (2) in West Africa.  The positions are nine months in duration.  CAUSE Canada is a Christian motivated international relief and development organization which has been incorporated as a Canadian charity since 1984.  These intern positions are undertaken within the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy.

This Program is undertaken with the financial support of the Government of Canada provided through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Canadian citizenship or permanent residency eligible to work in Canada;
• Currently unemployed or underemployed (i.e. working in a job not related to academic training);
• No previous paid career-related overseas work experience;
• Have never participated in an internship program of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy;
• Between 19 and 30 years of age; and
• A college or university graduate.

Please note that strong preference will be given to applicants with a basic competency in the Spanish language.

REMUNERATION PACKAGE:

Remuneration:    $750/month allowance per intern + $550 bonus upon completion of internship

Benefits:    Full orientation and de-briefing in Canmore; one return airfare and local, work-related travel costs, health & travel insurance; immunizations; travel visas; accommodation costs in host country.

Internship Timeframe:  March to November 2010
