2012 Internship Positions

CAUSE Canada is currently seeking individuals to fill six internship positions in Guatemala (2) and Honduras (2) in Central America, and Sierra Leone (2) in West Africa. The positions are nine months in duration, including 8 months of overseas work. The 2012 timeframe for internships is mid-March to mid-December.

CAUSE Canada is a Christian motivated international relief and development organization which has been incorporated as a Canadian charity since 1984. These intern positions are part of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy.

This Program is undertaken with the financial support of the Government of Canada provided through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

General Qualifications:

• Canadian citizenship or permanent residency eligible to work in Canada;
• Currently unemployed or underemployed (i.e. working in a job not related to academic training);
• No previous paid career-related overseas work experience;
• Have never participated in an internship program of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy;
• Between 19 and 30 years of age; and
• A college or university graduate.

Please note that strong preference will be given to applicants with a basic competency in the Spanish language for the Central American positions.  Education and/or experience in rural, agricultural work will be advantageous for all positions.
