Not only are we committed to putting on a great race but also supporting green initiatives in our partnering countries in Sierra Leone, Honduras and Guatemala. Pledge Prizes:

Thanks to our wonderful sponsors, we are able to offer great prizes to every runner who collects pledges. Prizes are as follows:

Raise at least $100, and recieve a $10 gift certificate to The Tech Shop.

Raise $200 or more, and recieve a free massage from Riverside Spa (over $100 value!) PLUS a gift card to The Tech Shop at 10% the value of the pledging level reached. For example:

$200 = massage plus $20 Gift Card at The Tech Shop
$300 = massage plus $30 Gift Card
$400 = massage plus $40 Gift Card

You get the idea!  It continues as above for each increase of $100 in pledges raised.

Raise at least $1500 and receive the massage, a $150 Gift Card and be entered into the draw for a weekend getaway package in the Rockies.

Raise at least $2000 receive the massage, a $200 Gift Card and be entered to win a weekend getaway package in the Rockies and a guided interpretive day hike.

Committed to Global Green
No matter where you live in the world we can all comment on how we are being affected by global warming. However for most of us these changes may not have a significant affect on our day to day lives. Our partners to the south however, have a much different story as they experience the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation everyday.

Lack of rain, soil erosion and deforestation are just a few of the devastating realities our communities around the world are facing.

This year CAUSE Canada is showing our commitment to the environment by first starting at home. The Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon is striving to incorporate eco-friendly practices and products. In addition to our local commitment all funds that are raised will go towards our global partners in Guatemala, Honduras and Sierra Leone to help them do the same.  This year we are directing funds to our environmental projects in conjunction with the Women's Integral Empowerment Program.  This program supports women in literacy, numeracy, leadership and business training.  This project is supported by the Canadian Government at a 3:1 match, therefore, all funds raised benefit from this generous matching program.

The following green projects are supported by CAUSE Canada in our overseas communities:

• Water Wells
• Gravity Feed Water Systems
• Reforestation
• Composting Latrines

I am running in the 14th annual Canmore Rocky Mountain Half-Marathon, 10km and 5 km race on Sept. 13, 2009 and would like to ask you for your support in raising funds for green projects in West Africa and Central America

CAUSE Canada has a long history of implementing green projects with their local partners in Guatemala, Honduras and Sierra Leone. This year as CAUSE strives to continue their efforts to create the greenest race in Canada they are also striving to support more green projects overseas.
   
Through your pledges all money raised will go towards the following initiatives through the Women's Integral Empowerment Program:

- Supporting Organic Agriculture
