The most interesting events of my trip to Freetown happened shortly after I wrote my last blog. The bus between Kabala and Freetown leaves every day, from either end, at 6 in the morning, so I had to spend an extra night in The Big Freezy (I promise I've never called Freetown that before in my life).

For those of you who have been waiting for the update on my chicken…it wandered off! I’m very sorry to disappoint. He had been living in our yard and eating our rice for three whole weeks when he suddenly left us for no discernable reason.

Dogs are patrolling in angry gangs looking for mates, and then turning viciously on one another when they find one. All night this goes on and I wake periodically to threatening growls, querulous barks and defeated whimpers.

This past week, Adam and I travelled with other members of the CAUSE team to attend CAUSE Canada’s Regional Peace Conference in Freetown, while Matthew remained in Kabala to teach his classes at the bible college.
